About the venue

A venue for dinner, conversation and cards.

Midnightmar Queeclub is an independent Australian restaurant, dining venue and offline poker lounge where seasonal food, drinks and conversation share a light-filled setting with hosted social poker tables.

Food and hospitality lead the experience; poker is hosted exclusively offline and in person at the venue as a calm, recreational social ritual.

18 Harbourview Lane, Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia — a setting for dining, celebrations, corporate hospitality and hosted poker evenings.

Our story

Our story begins at a shared table.

Midnightmar Queeclub is shaped around the simple pleasure of gathering: a table set for seasonal food, drinks, conversation and time spent together. The room is made for a relaxed meal, a longer evening or a hosted social poker gathering, with each experience taking place face to face at the venue. It is a hospitality setting first—one where people can arrive as they are, settle into the rhythm of the table and make room for company.

The restaurant atmosphere remains central, while the card lounge gives guests another reason to linger and connect. Dinner, drinks and conversation sit naturally alongside hosted poker tables in an intentional social setting, not a separate casino-like room. Cards are a complementary ritual: an occasion to share a table, follow the host’s guidance and enjoy an evening in person.

That same welcoming setting can support everyday dining, hosted poker nights, private celebrations, corporate hospitality and private poker evenings. These are different reasons to gather, all held within one considered venue experience.

Seasonal dining

Dining philosophy

Seasonal food is the starting point for the dining room: considered plates for an easy lunch, dinner or a longer shared evening.

Drinks that keep the table open

Drinks are part of the rhythm of a shared table, complementing food and conversation before, during or after a hosted poker gathering. There is room for different kinds of visit here: guests can come for a meal, settle in with friends or simply enjoy the atmosphere at their own pace.

A pace made for company

The room is designed for guests who want a meal to unfold into conversation, a private celebration or an in-venue social poker night. Hosted poker takes place at venue tables, in person, within the same warm hospitality rhythm.

The card lounge concept

A card lounge built for real company.

Our card lounge is an in-venue social space for hosted poker, conversation and recreational participation at physical poker tables. Offline and in person is the whole premise: there is no online poker offering, only a welcoming host-led setting where guests can share an evening around the table.

Hosted poker tables

Tables are structured social spaces where guests can join a hosted poker experience, follow venue guidance and enjoy the shared rhythm of cards and conversation. The focus is recreational, respectful participation in a setting that remains welcoming to everyone around the table.

A lounge, not an online service

Midnightmar Queeclub is a physical restaurant and card lounge, with poker hosted only on site as part of a social venue experience. The dining room, lounge and host are all part of being present together.

Room to connect

Whether you arrive for dinner, drinks or a hosted table, the card lounge is designed to feel like a natural continuation of the evening: calm, considered and shared in person.

The way we host

Hospitality values

Warmly hosted

We aim for attentive, unforced hospitality that helps guests settle in, whether they join us for a meal, drinks, a celebration or a poker table. Every visit begins with making space for people to feel comfortable together.

Designed for conversation

Food, drinks and social poker can coexist without losing the ease of a good conversation. The shared-table energy is welcoming and relaxed, with poker always secondary to the hospitality atmosphere around it.

Flexible for occasions

A simple catch-up, dinner, private celebration, corporate hospitality gathering or private poker evening can all begin in the same polished setting. Enquire about private events when you are planning a reason to gather.

Venue guidance

Considered at every table

Thoughtful hosting extends to dining and poker tables alike. Guests are welcomed, informed and expected to share the room respectfully, with poker participation subject to venue rules and applicable Australian laws.

Hosted social poker

What makes our poker nights different

Hosted poker nights are part of a real venue evening: social, recreational and shared around physical tables.

01

Hosted from welcome to wrap-up

Poker nights are hosted in person, giving guests a clear social framework and venue guidance from the moment they arrive. Participation happens at the venue, with a host-led atmosphere that keeps the focus on ease, shared understanding and a good evening together.

02

Social by design

Social poker is a reason to meet, reconnect and share time around physical poker tables rather than an isolated activity. Food, drinks and conversation remain part of the wider visit, while participation stays recreational and welcoming.

03

Part of a real venue evening

Our poker nights belong to a dining venue and card lounge where guests are physically together, not interacting through a screen. For current practical information, explore poker nights.

One possible rhythm

The relationship between food, atmosphere and social poker

A visit does not need to follow a set script. It can simply be a meal, or unfold into a longer shared evening.

01

Begin around the dining table

An evening can start with seasonal food and a shared table, setting an unhurried tone for conversation. Dining remains an option for guests joining a poker-focused evening and for those simply visiting to eat.

02

Carry the conversation to the card lounge

Guests can move into the social card-lounge atmosphere for hosted social poker at physical tables, offline and in person. It is inviting, relaxed and built around shared presence.

03

Make the gathering your own

A visit can remain a dinner, become a hosted poker night or be shaped around a celebration, corporate hospitality occasion or private poker evening. Enquire About Private Events to begin the conversation.

Shared standards

Responsible and respectful venue culture

Poker at Midnightmar Queeclub is a recreational, social activity hosted exclusively in person at the venue. The card lounge is a physical shared space, designed for people who value good company, clear guidance and a considered table atmosphere.

Respect for the table and the room

Guests are expected to treat fellow diners, hosts and poker participants with consideration. Respect for conversation, shared tables and personal space helps preserve a welcoming environment for everyone enjoying the venue.

Hosted guidance matters

Hosted poker participation follows venue guidance, helping social poker remain clear, comfortable and enjoyable for those at the table. This is a recreational experience, held in person and shaped by the people sharing it.

Rules and applicable Australian laws

All poker activities are subject to venue rules and applicable Australian laws. Review current poker night information or ask before participating if you would like clarity about a particular hosted event.
